  • What is the CIEF?
    It is a school belonging to the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne which offers French classes.
  • Who is learning at the CIEF?
    Foreign learners over the age of 18 who wish to improve their French and prepare for studying at the university.
  • How many levels are there at the CIEF?
    It offers 6 levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) for all learners, from beginner to advanced level. New students are oriented to a group corresponding to their level after a written test and an interview with a teacher in their arrival.
  • How long are CIEF French courses?
    • Semester course
      The year at the CIEF consists of two semesters of 14 weeks. The first semester starts at the beginning of September and ends at the end of December. The second semester starts mid-January and ends mid-May.
    • Summer course
      In June, the CIEF offers a summer course, twenty-hour of classes per week for two levels: intermediate and advanced. The course lasts between 1 and 3 weeks according to your choice. Classes are held in the morning and the afternoon. Cultural activities and tours are also offered.
